He let out a nervous laugh, but his eyes were bright with contentedness and happiness. "You keep saying things like that, and treating me like this, and I will..." he admitted.
He kissed him back, a pleased noise in the back of his throat. He felt a little silly, saying such things, but... Dominic wasn't against the idea. He didn't push him away. He did the opposite; made Jaime feel like this would go somewhere other than sex. That the healer might fall in love with him one day, like Jaime knew he was already going with him.
It was a little terrifying, to think about falling in love again. But he wasn't going to run. He pulled him closer, kissed him sweeter.

The fact that Jaime took his seriousness with only a small nervous laugh made him feel somewhat less afraid about what was happening between them. He felt like things might go well, that there might be something between them if he allowed it and if Jaime allowed it. Things that were a lot more than sex and a lot more than just soft jokes and gentle kisses.
Letting out a low little sigh, happy and content as Jaime kissed him, dominic nuzzled his jaw. At first he wasn't sure if he should ask, or if it might insinuate clingy-ness...but he did anyhow. "Are you staying for a few days...or just tonight?" One of his hands mindlessly carded through the other's hair as he fretted over the answer that he hoped would follow.

Jaime moved into the fingers carding through his hair, a content noise in the back of his throat. He blinked blue eyes open slowly, a nervous smile pulling at his lips. "I... packed enough clothes for the weekend," he admitted. "Told Markus not to contact me about a job.."
Truthfully, he hadn't really expected any of this to happen. He expected to share a meal, share a drink, and go their separate ways. And that was IF Dominic had even shown up.
Of course, he'd hoped things might turn out this way... which was why he'd come prepared. But expected it? No. Not ever.
"So unless you want me to leave..."

Dominic felt a happiness settle over him and he couldn't help but chuckle at the way Jaime had responded. "Darling, if I wanted you to leave do you think I'd be holding onto you as if my life depended on it? The healer teased, placing soft, gentle kisses to his cheeks. He knew Jaime was a man, he was a hunter. He wasn't a vulnerable little thing but...did that mean he couldn't do this? Couldn't make Jaime understand that he was precious and cared for? Admittedly, Dominic didn't understand nor grasp a great deal of the 'gender norms' nor the easily wounded pride that many hunters had. He knew a many of them who most likely would have pushed him away for being so tender.
Jaime didn't, and it made him happy. He let him dote on him, let him touch and kiss him with tenderness that Dominic had long since forgotten how great it could feel. His lips pressed along his jaw and his teeth softly nibbled at a scarred ear. "I want you to stay with me as long as I can have you. If I wasn't so sure that Markus might hunt me down for kidnapping you, I'd never let you leave ." He teased. "But I'm happy with however long you can stay with me as long as you come back to me soon."

Jaime shivered, a smile on his lips as Dominic kissed over his face. With how sensitive he was, even the little bit of attention had his tired body stirring, but he was too content to do anything about it. Just laying next to him, being affectionate, was amazing. He'd felt starved of it for so long.
"I can't stay too long," he admitted, sadly. "There's... people that need my help. I can't turn my back on them." Looking into Dominic's eyes, he brushed knuckles across a high cheekbone. "But this weekend I'm all yours, Dom. And I'll come back to you as much I can."
He pressed a kiss to his lips, telling him, "Trust me when I say there is nowhere else I would rather be."

Dominic's eyes closed with a smile at the touch and the soft kiss. He knew Jaime, and he knew one reason he looked up to the man and had fallen for him had been his selflessness. He'd given so much for his younger brother, to protect him and keep them safe...and now he continued to give so much for people he didn't know and may never meet. As a hunter that's what you did, even if you didn't look at it that way.
To be a hunter was a sacrifice. So many gave blood and limb for what they believed in and what they did. Sure, others acted out of revenge....but there were ones like Jaime who seemed to do it just out of a sense of duty or what was right. It made Dominic respect him, and his cause even if he might tease occasionally.
"I know, just remember this old man waiting for you here when you're out being some sort of superhero." The healer teased, pulling the sheets about them, and urging Jaime closer to his body. He'd have him for the weekend and then...He would have him again before too long, he knew that. Or rather, that's what Dominic chose to believe over the fear that would eat at him later.

"Superhero?" Jaime scoffed, curling closer to Dominic's warm, solid body. He had quickly become his anchor in all the chaos and death he saw. All the chaos and death he dealt... "More like a nighttime vigilante that everyone thinks is doing more harm than good. The old lady's window I busted yesterday? She's trying to find me to press charges, totally oblivious to the charred remains of a living nightmare in her backyard."
Pressing soft kisses against Dominic's face, he laced their fingers together. "But I'll come back to you. I'll always come back." Giving a crooked smile, he swore, "On my life, I always will."

Chuckling, the healer brushed aside the other's long dark hair. He loved his hair, even if he chose to shave part of it away. "Well, that Batman I've heard about is something of a nighttime vigilante and not everyone much likes him...but still a superhero. You're just the kind who doesn't run around in tights and a cap and your 'Alfred' has the vocabulary of a drunken sailor."
Sighing out at the soft kisses the other place to his face, Dominic smiled. "I trust you will. Just take care of yourself. I wouldn't want your ghost to come back to me."

Jaime had to laugh as Dominic compared Markus to Alfred. "He also doesn't dress quite as well," he teased, pressing another kiss against Dominic's face. "Though I think I'd look better in tights than Batman ever has."
It was so... odd, to lay next to someone and just be playful again. Though even with Macken, Jaime had never really shared his humor. His had always been more morbid, sometimes so much that it made Jaime upset to even hear him say it. He'd told him, "Rejoice, love. This beasty might be the one to drag me screaming to Hell and give you a breather." And then he'd die.
"I..." Jaime bit his lip, unsure when tears had filled his blue eyes. "I wouldn't ever do that to you," he told Dominic. If he lost his life, if he did become a ghost, he'd never go to the healer. He'd never make Dominic have to face that.

"Yes yes you would. I think you have the legs for it." Dominic teased gently, letting the silence fall around them as Jaime seemed to slip into thought.
When his words had caught up to the man, and he spoke, the healer instantly regretted his choice of words. "I'm sorry...I was just trying to tell you to be careful. Hey...I'm sorry, Jaime, I didn't mean to upset you." He swipped a soft thumb beneath the other's beautiful blue eyes, brows furrowing in worry.
"But if you never went crazy..who knows. A ghost boyfriend wouldn't be too bad. you could possess my toaster...if I had a toaster, if you got particularly cross with me."he combed his fingers through the other's hair. "Don't cry, love." He spoke softly, not hiding his accent as he sought to comfort him.

Jaime wasn't sure if it was the soft touches to his face, or the words themselves, or maybe that gorgeous accent slipping through, but he calmed down. He took a shaking breath and nuzzled into Dominic's hand, pressing a kiss against his palm.
"I like your accent.." he murmured, instead of talking about what had upset him. He didn't wish to dwell on those sort of thoughts. They brought nothing but pain, sadness, and fear. And right then was a happy moment. "I didn't realize you'd even had one until..." he cleared his throat, embarrassed. "It's... nice."

Dominic chuckled, smiling at the young hunter, noting the soft flush against his tan cheeks. Gorgeous. He had scars and he was every bit a man but Dominic had never seen a man more beautiful than he. Strong, yet vulnerable...it was an enticing combination. "I'm glad you like my accent" His voice was soft, but thick with the accent he often held back for a number of reasons. The healer was glad to be able to bring about the shiver across the other's skin with just the sound of his voice alone.
"You're adorable, Jaime. If it doesn't offend you to hear it...." He kissed the hunter once more, soft and sweet, before leaning back against his pillows. "You warm my heart."

Jaime shifted, settling against the healer's side, head resting against his shoulder. He laced their fingers together, thumb brushing over knuckles. He was content, here. He felt at peace, for the first time in years. Macken had always been about work; one job after another after another. Death, and pain, and death, death, death.
Dominic eased pain. He healed. Dominic saved.
He smiled softly to himself, lifting their laced hands to kiss over his lover's fingers. "You make me feel safe," he said in return. He craved this attention, this affection, from Dominic. He craved the sweet words and soft touches.

To make a hunter feel safe was no easy feat, especially when you could so easily kill them and they KNEW that. He was glad, however, that he had inspired that in Jaime. He had known nothing but loneliness and one patient after another for so long. He'd missed the warmth of another person at his side, the touch of someone who cared for him and someone he, too, cared for.
It really was an amazing feeling being next to the hunter, but he didn't put those feelings to words. He had a few days in which to slowly tell him all the things he made him feel in order to inspire him to return after he had left. For now he just wanted to enjoy the warmth and contentment that was this moment until sleep drug them down.
