She checked the clock that hung on the far wall of her apartment. It ticked away, the sound of it ringing in the silent room. It was like it was mocking willow with how late Daeven was. Didn't he want to come? Maybe she'd assumed too quickly that they had the kind of friendship where she could invite him to her house for dinner and a movie like friends.
What if he'd gotten the wrong idea and just decided not to show so she didn't get too embarrassed? Oh god, maybe you didn't ask a guy to do that. She'd only had experience with one close friend who also ended up being her boyfriend...god she was hopeless at this. Still, she had hope that something had just kept him but he was still coming.
A number of things could have actually happened, not all of them had to point to the worst, she tried to remind herself. Looking down to the phone in her hand, she wished that the demon had gotten a phone so she could call. But, maybe it was for the best. The young succubus let out a sigh, leaing back in her seat thinking back to the stuffed pasta sitting in a container on the kitchen counter. It was probably mostly cold by now...

Daeven had all but ran out of the inn after he, Bryant and Markus had gotten back from a job. He'd rushed through a shower, getting rid of the grime and blood covering him, and threw on some of his nicer clothes; the ones he'd first bought after he and Bryant had soul-bonded, back when he still wanted to make an impression on the humans.
He heard Bryant call after him, but he ignored him, brushing still-wet hair from his face. When he'd cleared the house, making sure no one was around, he reached inside himself and brought forth a swirling vortex, disappearing into it.
It dropped him off right outside Willow's apartment. A child stared at him with horror in her eyes, and Daeven stuck his tongue out at the child, making a face and sending her running and crying. "Shit fuck," he cursed to himself. At least it had been a child. Parents would explain that away.
He took the stairs two at a time, and knocked once before he leaned against the wall, panting. He hated to admit it, but the longer he was out of Hell, the harder is was to use that way of travel. He'd have to invest in a fucking car one day. Scowling, he cursed again. He was nearly 50 minutes late.
What a way to start off his first friendship.

Willow almost found herself dozing on her small couch but jerked awake at the sound of a knock on the door. Could it be Daeven? Finally? She brushed down the dark skirt and walked to the door, wanting to make a good first impression for the first time Daeven had come to her apartment. It was the first time ANYONE but her mothers had come to her apartment.
The more she thought about it...the more she realized that maybe it was just her mothers. Viveka came by to check on her most nights, even if Yvaine said she'd be fine. It made her happy that Viveka had cared so much. Honestly, She would have never found the same love and affection with Zath. He was too uncomfortable with knowing Yvaine had a daughter that was close to his age...but it didn't bother Viveka, not even a little. Sometimes it felt like she'd been born to her and Yvaine was her father. She wouldn't have minded if it would have been like that.
Still, Willow couldn't take the chance and look a mess...and she was glad she hadn't when she opened the door. Her face lit up like it was christmas. "Daeven! I was...was worried you wouldn't come! Dinner might be a little cold by now but there's a lot left."
Stepping aside she invited him in, one hand behind her. She'd had heels on before, now she just walked around in her white tights on the cool wood floor. looking over Daeven she could tell he'd taken a shower before coming over. maybe he'd gotten caught up in a hunt. "Did the hunt go okay or?"She walked away from the door way, her long braid swaying behind her as he made the short walk to the kitchen. to retrieve a tupperwear container and a fork for her guest.
"Next time I'll serve you on actual plates, I promise." The succubus giggled from the kitchen before stepping just out of it to look at the fallen angel that stood in her livingroom entry way. "Do you want me to warm it up? It's stuffed pasta."

How Willow lit up amused him, and he grinned at her. "Sorry," he said. "You know how those idiots can be. I got here as soon as I could."
He still felt bad, for being late, but she didn't seem angry at him. She seemed excited. Her eyes shown with it. She looked lovely, in her dark skirt and stockings, her hair braided and reaching down her back. "Yeah, it went fine," he said, a little absentmindedly. She was adorable, rushing back and forth.
"Just took a little longer than we'd thought." He leaned against the archway to watch her move around the kitchen. He hadn't felt awkward when she'd invited him over, or even when he'd arrive. Now, though, thinking about it?
Wasn't this... he didn't know. Wasn't it odd for a woman to invite a man over? To cook for him? Humans confused him, so he shook the thoughts off. "Ah, sure," he said, frowning a little. "Did you already eat?"

Standing there, holding the tupperware in one hand and a fork in the other she paused for a minute. Sometimes it took her by surprise how attractive Daeven could be. Not to say he ever wasn't...but there was something about how hard it was to forget he was much older than her and her friend sometimes. He would get this look on his face, and he'd be leaning or relaxing just as he was right then and suddenly it would hit her so suddenly.
This was a man who'd probably broken more hearts than she could count. He HAD been an angel and even as a demon, the handsome face added to their predatory skills. After all, a demon could feed and kill easily if they were beautiful. Humans were easily distracted by it.
Shaking the thought off, she gave him a nod. "Sorry, I got kind of hungry and wasn't sure if you were going to still come. But I'll probably be hungry in a little while. I've discovered that if a succubus doesn't feed, they need to eat a lot more human food than normal. It's not so bad though." Willow moved to the kitchen, popping the container into the microwave as she still talked. "After all, it means I can eat lots of good food and I won't gain a pound. I never have and I used to bake and eat sweets all the time." She flushed a little at admitting that before brushing a curl behind her ear that had fallen out of her braid.
"I got a silly show for us to watch. Well silly considering the life we both live but I thought it might be fun to watch and make fun of a little."

Daeven looked at her, arching an expectant eyebrow as she froze and seemed to look him over. It wasn't a look of lust, but... like she was thinking about something. He knew it had to be about him, but he couldn't get any more cues from the young woman about what specifically.
But the moment passed, and she seemed to come back to present. And he didn't call her out on it. "Yeah... ah, shit. Sorry, doll. I tried to get here on time. But the idiots started bickering and we ended up having the chase the damn monster halfway out of town before we finally caught it."
Taking the food she offered, he did add, "Isn't that... unhealthy? For a succubus?" He frowned, and amended, "To not actually, you know. Feed. Doesn't that hurt you?" Truthfully, he didn't have much experience with succubi or incubi. They tended to stay away from him, after they picked up on the fallen angel bit.
Apparently he smelled different. Tasted different. Like he was... rotten, he think he remembered being the word they used. Like his lack of a soul was going to corrupt them.

Willow couldn't help but shake her head and give a weak little chuckle at how he talked of them chasing...whatever it was they had been chasing. His pet name for her made her smile and she made her way into the livingroom before he could speak the next words. They caused her to pause behind the couch and her shoulders to tense.
Daeven wasn't too far off. Food and masturbation wasn't hardly an adequate supplement for a succubus. Especially a young one. Yvaine was pained to see what she put herself through, to know she'd passed this lifestyle onto Willow but willow didn't blame her or hate her for what she'd been born. Honestly...she was just afraid, afraid of hurting someone and unable to find it in herself to just choose at random.
How had her mother ever done it? Tossing a pained smile back at the fallen angel, she brushed a strand of hair from her face. "It's a little uncomfortable after a while and you start to feel really weak." SHe shrugged. "But Viveka gives me this awful concoction that helps give me a boost in energy but I heard succubi start to get used to it after a while. I guess...I don't have a steady food source anymore and I'm still really green. I'll be okay, though! My mother passed her strength and stubbornness on to me."

Daeven followed after her, mindlessly taking a bite of the pasta. It was surprisingly good, considering the human food he was used to, and he ended up eating another before he finally spoke again.
"I dunno. I get you were raised differently and all of that, but shit. If you're gonna get immune to whatever the heck Viveka's making you, shouldn't you... fuck, like. Find someone?" If it were him, he knew it'd be easy to go out. He wouldn't give any of the people, human or otherwise, he fed on another thought afterwards.
But Willow was different. She was selfless, and sweet, and... god, she acted so fucking human it was painful. And endearing, in a way, he supposed. "I'm not sayin', I dunno. Hell, I have no idea what I'm saying. Just that one day you're gonna have to. You're gonna wilt away, girl."
She'd helped him, before. She'd saved his goddamn life. The thought that she was too caring and human to do anything, and would risk dying herself, ate at him. That wasn't right. It wasn't right at all.

Willow sat down. She didn't like to think about it. How could you do that so easily? How could her mother expect her to find someone who'd be with her, at her age, and not be a creep? How did she even expect her to be okay with just having sex with a stranger. Of course...she'd known her mother had been raised knowing what she was, what she'd need to do. Sex wasn't as taboo in the demon world. Sometimes, her parents would host parties where couples would have sex in the open, she had said once. Yvaine had even been prepared for who would be her first as well as her trainer.
Willow had been raised by humans. She'd always been something of a shy, withdrawn girl. She didn't want to whine, she knew she had to give in eventually. It's what she was and nothing would come of trying to avoid it forever. So she sat there, giving a little awkward smile. She knew He was right and it only made her feel even more foolish.
"Mm I know. It's not easy finding someone. I tried once but I couldn't go through with it. I don't know how to...without killing a human. The only person I've." he brushed down her black skirt. "Just a demon."

Sitting down beside the young succubus, Daeven waited as she lost herself in her thoughts again. She did it often, he was starting to notice. And each time he found himself more and more curious about what they were.
Taking another bite of the food she'd made, his eyes followed the way her braided hair spilled over her shoulder. "I get that," he said, when she finally spoke. "It can't be easy. But, I dunno. Your mom did it. Wouldn't she know anyone, maybe another young succubus that's having the same issue? You can't starve yourself forever..." he frowned.
Truthfully, he wasn't so sure why he kept pressing this issue. She was doing fine, for now. She was a little small, and tired easily, but nothing overly so. She was still stronger than a human. But the thought of her wasting away because she'd been raised by ignorant humans made his gut twist.

Daeven's concern, or what seemed like concern, made her smile. He might not be human, might not understand many human emotions, but he was still concerned about her and it made her happier than he could know. But she still had to shake her head and let out a sigh. "Sadly my mother doesn't know anyone of my kind that's young. She sort of cut herself off from the world."
Her small hands clutched at her skirt. "The only other succubus or incubus I know of is Duncan and his daughter. and...I'm not really into girls."Willow blushed. "Plus she's just half, anyway..his daughter I mean." Her thoughts turned to Elijah and she made a face and quickly tried to conceal it. "I used to have a demon boyfriend. I thought I could learn to control it with him...but that didn't work out."
The succubus tried to show Daeven a smile, motioning to the food. "Is it good? At first I was just going to order a pizza but you don't get much in the way of home cooked meals, from what I've seen."

He couldn't tell if the topic made her sad or embarrassed. He knew he should let it go. It really wasn't his business, and she would have to eventually come out of her shell and find her own way. If she was as much like her mother as she seemed to be, he knew she'd be okay.
Still... "If things get bad..." he said, serious. "You let me know. We'll figure something out." He'd hunt down another succubus if he had to. Hell, he'd do it himself, if he had to. Though from how she looked, it wouldn't be anything close to a chore.
Looking back to the cup of pasta he had resting on his knee, and gave her a grin. "It's damn good. Hell of a lot better than all that shit Bryant and Markus insist on eating every day. I'm surprised their arteries haven't clogged... but then again, maybe Bryant's been making sure to keep them clear. I dunno." He shrugged, and ate again in silence.

Willow blinked at him, surprised. Daeven really was a nice guy when you got down to it. He might not be human, he might be rough around the edges in some things but she liked him all the same. She would have hugged him if he weren't eating, but instead she just smiled and gave a soft nod. "Okay! But I'm okay for now." The succubus stated. She was as okay as she could be right then, anyway. She wasn't too foolish to think it'd always be that way, however.
It was just her luck that Succubi needed to feed less at a younger age and more the older they got, versus Incubi who were reversed. Not stay too long in her human form helped, too. That's when she remembered she still held her glamour in place and decided to let it drop, slowly while Daeven talked and ate. Horns slowly grew and curled around ears that slowly morphed and came to a point. Her tail flicked from behind her, curling about her leg before she halted the transformation, not liking when her skin would turn colors and preferring this version of herself.
As Daeven shrugged she giggled and shrugged herself. "Maybe, but those two are pretty resilient. I wouldn't be surprised if they've scared the reaper off a few times." Saying that with a little chuckle, she froze, suddenly remembering the show she'd downloaded for them to watch.

Sometimes, he forgot that Willow use a glamour. He'd only ever seen her without it once before, and it took him by surprise as her horns grew and her tail unfurled. Honestly, he himself had gotten used to keeping his own up.
"Well, if you're getting comfy.." he drawled, letting his own glamour fall. Thick horns grew from his head, skin darkening and eyes bleeding to black, nails turning to claws. He kept the desecrated wings hidden.
Taking another bite of the pasta, he replied, "Those two are... fucked up," he finally settled on, rolling his eyes. Honestly, being soul-bonded with himself, Daeven wasn't even sure if Bryant was human anymore. He didn't have a pure mortal's soul. Markus did, even if he didn't act like it.
Finishing up the food, he turned to look at her. "I'm serious, though. You tell me before you get to the point of fading away. We'll find someone or I'll do it my damn self. Not sense in being a martyr with no cause."

Watching his Glamour fall made a shiver run down Willow's spine. She was in awe of him, not afraid. Well, if she were honest with herself, she was a little afraid deep down. He looked so close to the demons of nightmares but she knew better. This was a fallen angel. He was beautiful but frightening.
Willow would have been a fool if she tried to lie and say it didn't stir something inside of her. Whether it was the succubus side of her that clawed at her, ever hungry, or just a good girl craving a bad boy...well she didn't know. Her cheeks flushed and she stood to walk across to the tv, bending over to get the show started. It didn't take long to get Netflix started up on her laptop and she turned just in time to hear what Daeven said.
Her face flushed brighter, thankfully she concealed it well with letting her glamour slip further, hiding the human hue of her skin. Could she really just...do that with him? If she needed to, that is. She didn't want to call him selfless for offering, not that she thought he was a creep, but Viveka often told her men would easily offer themselves to a pretty girl if they could get easy sex....Daeven didn't seem like the type, at least not to just try to get an easy lay with a friend so she smiled. "Thank you. I won't let it get too serious."
Moving to sit back down on the couch next to the demon, she shrugged. "I'm not so dumb as to just let myself die because I'm scared or uncomfortable...I guess I just keep hoping I'll find another way. I don't want to just have sex with a stranger and I don't want to accidentally kill someone, either."Smiling over to him, looking into the pitch black eyes. "If it comes down to it, it's better for it to be you than someone I could hurt. Or someone I don't trust."
