Bryant was silent as he watched markus get ready and adjust to rest. He could have left, he supposed, but he didn't want to, not yet. Instead he wanted to stay and make sure his...boyfriend, didn't decide to get up and walk out that door. As a sign of comfort, and without looking down at him, he placed a hand on the other's arm just to let him know he was here and he wasn't leaving.
That was about as much as he could let himself give, he just hoped that was enough...Maybe, once markus was asleep, he'd pretend he fell asleep next to him and lay down with him. Maybe. What was one more out of character reaction after how today had gone, anyway?

Markus felt tense as he lay, willing his body to fall asleep. Before he'd been ready to pass out, but now it eluded him. He was at war with himself. For the first time, he wanted to curl up against Bryant. He wanted to feel his hands on him, feel him pressed closed, in a situation that wasn't sexual.
It was terrifying, but the idea also made a warmth spread through his chest that he couldn't say he didn't like. But he didn't know how Bryant would react. So he lay, tense, acting as if he were asleep. He'd gotten good at feigning sleep; deep, even breaths. The occasional shift.
He wasn't sure how long he went on with that act until he finally gave up. Let Bryant shove him away, if he thought he was still awake. He only hoped, thinking he was asleep, Bryant might be more open to it.
He shifted closer, making a soft noise in the back of his throat. With how his lover was propped up against his pillow and the headboard, Markus couldn't press as close as he wished. But he did was he could; throwing an arm around the man's waist, his nose pressed closed to his hip. He sighed softly and briefly nuzzled against him, before he settled back down. And waited, wondering how Bryant would react.

Bryant has let his eyes slipped closed some, not wanting to just stare at the wall for however long it took for one or both of them to fall asleep when they shot open in surprise. For a moment he tensed, confused and unsure how to react. Markus never did that. Ever. And, well, sure he never did either but it was confusing and surprising but given a moment, he relaxed.
He placed a hand toMarkus's back, rubbing the bare skin in what he hoped would be a soothing gesture regardless of if the other was asleep. Any other time he might have been like "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" Since it was so different from what he was used to but, for once, he was going to keep his big mouth shut and just sit there. A lot of people were right...you couldn't have a relationship that'd last if all you did was fight and yell and a part of him was worried who he was, regardless if the other part kept screaming that markus knew what he was getting into, would turn him away eventually.
